Mia Hoffman

When I started at the University of Washington, I could not imagine how it would shape me:

• as a leader in accessibility
• a teacher and mentor
• a playmate to children with disabilities
• as a researcher rooted in and advocating for the local disability community

My time at UW has not been smooth sailing, but it has always moved forward, uplifted by people who supported me and opportunities that allowed me to grow. This portfolio shares how my Husky experience has prepared me to build a future faculty and research career focused on Mobility, Accessibility, and Play, ensuring young children with disabilities have equitable access to the right to play and simply be kids.
